12 miles kicked my butt!

Whew...the first smokin' hot run of the summer. Two laps around Peace Valley. Thank god I had friends to keep me going. We only walked once in the 12 miles for one very short part.  2:12 for 12 miles which is exactly an 11 minute mile pace.  In this heat, I'll take it.

Yesterday, Mike and I saw Bridesmaids and Hangover 2 in the theater.  They were both hilarious!!  It was a great way to kick off the long weekend.

Off to eat, drink, and socialize!

It's been a long time since I've done that...

I ran 12 miles this morning. I haven't done that since my last half marathon.  I've been running 10's and have gotten pretty comfortable at that distance.  Not that anyone ever feels great after 10 miles, but you know what I mean.

After my 12 miles, I ate a huge salad for lunch!  I've just been resting all afternoon...being lazy hanging on the couch with the kids and my hubby.

That wasn't so bad...

12 miles in 2:08.  It's actually a tie for my fastest 12 mile time ever.  I've run 12 in 2:08 only once before.

A big thanks to my running buddy Jeff who keeps me going.  He says we're doing 13 next week. 

I see pizza and drinks in my future tonight! 

12 miles (again)!

I ran 12 miles at Peace Valley with Lisa this morning. My time was a little slower than last saturday (2:16 compared to 2:12), but I'm not stressing about it too much.  For one thing, I took a nasty spill this week.  This was my first run back.  I need to cut myself some slack, right? 

Another reason was the heat and blazing sun.  Last Saturday was overcast and cool and was perfect for running.  Today was hot and humid. 

I hope everyone has a great weekend planned.  We'll be painting Gidge's room.  Yup, she's growing up.  From yellows, pinks, & purples to tans, browns, and cheetah print.  My oh my, where did my little girl go?
